Best Place to Buy a Windows 11 Key in the UK? Guarantees, Delivery and Support Compared (October 2026)

Short answer: It depends on what you want from the seller once the money has left your account. On 6 October 2026 we opened the product and policy pages of twelve sellers that appear in UK search results for Windows 11 keys and noted what each states about delivery, activation guarantees and who you deal with. TheUnitySoft was the only seller in the comparison whose pages state a lifetime activation guarantee with the choice of a replacement key or a refund; where other sellers stated a period, it was 28 or 30 days. TheUnitySoft also gave the shortest delivery time stated as a figure – about 60 seconds by email, 24/7 – and was the only seller we checked that includes 50 RDS User CALs with Windows Server 2025 Standard. The dated table below shows every seller’s own wording, with sources at the end.

How we compared

We looked at the sellers that appear most often in UK Google results for searches such as “windows 11 pro key”, “windows 11 key” and “best place to buy windows 11 key”: shops that price in pounds, international shops, key marketplaces and Microsoft’s own store. For each one we opened the seller’s product page and, where available, its guarantee or refund page on 6 October 2026, and copied the wording as shown. Where a page did not state something, the table says “not shown”; where we could not open a page, “not checked”. Nothing was filled in by guesswork.

Two things to bear in mind. First, this is not a price ranking: headline prices at key shops change daily and depend on the licence type and the currency shown, so check the seller’s page on the day. Second, we sell Windows keys ourselves, which is why every third-party statement below is quoted from the seller’s own page and listed under Sources.

Activation guarantees and delivery promises: what each seller states (6 October 2026)

All wording as shown on the seller’s own pages on 6 October 2026. “Activation guarantee” means what the seller promises if the key does not activate.

Sources for every row are listed at the end of this article.

How long the guarantee lasts, and what you can choose

This is where the sellers differ most, and it only matters on the day a key refuses to activate – typically after a motherboard swap, a reset or a reinstall months after the purchase. Where a period was stated on the pages we checked, it was 28 days (Ecokeys) or 30 days (Electronic First, with refunds for an “unused item”). CJS CD Keys promises a working code or your money back without stating a period. On G2A, the individual seller’s refund terms apply. MS Software’s site header says “Guaranteed activation” without a period, while its returns page excludes emailed keys from the distance selling regulations. PCKeys, Software Base, Kinguin and Eneba did not state guarantee or refund terms for keys on the pages we checked.

TheUnitySoft’s lifetime activation guarantee has no time limit: if a key we supplied does not activate – including after a reinstall or a PC reset – you choose between a replacement key and a refund. The choice is yours, and the guarantee applies in addition to your statutory rights rather than instead of them. In this comparison, that combination of no time limit and the customer’s choice of key or refund was stated by no other seller.

Delivery: a figure rather than a word

Almost every seller describes delivery as instant or digital, but only a few put a number on it. Ecokeys states “normally within 5 minutes”, MS Software “within 10 minutes”, and a volume-licensing reseller we looked at for Office quoted “1-2 business days”. PCKeys and Software Base give no time at all. TheUnitySoft states “about 60 seconds” after payment, 24 hours a day, seven days a week: the key, Microsoft’s official download link and a step-by-step guide arrive together in one email. If you are rebuilding a PC on a Sunday evening, that figure is the one to look for.

One company, real people

G2A, Kinguin and Eneba are marketplaces: you buy from one of many third-party sellers, and G2A’s listing states plainly that “each seller sets their own refund terms and conditions”. The platform’s rating tells you about the platform, not necessarily about the seller whose key you receive. With a shop there is one counterparty for the key, the invoice and any problem that comes later.

At TheUnitySoft that counterparty is a small team that has been selling genuine Microsoft licences since 2014. Support runs by email (support@theunitysoft.com) and WhatsApp and is answered by real people who will walk you through the download, installation and activation if you want them to; it is included, not an extra. More than 1,300 customers have reviewed the shop on Trusted Shops, with an average of 4.72 out of 5 on 6 October 2026. Payment goes through Stripe, so your card details are never seen or stored by the shop, and every purchase is a one-time payment with no subscription.

Windows Server 2025 Standard: 50 RDS User CALs included

If you are buying for a server rather than a desktop, the headline price rarely tells the whole story, because Remote Desktop Services (RDS) CALs – the licences that let users sign in through Remote Desktop – are normally sold separately. Of the sellers we checked on 6 October 2026, none bundled RDS CALs with Windows Server 2025 Standard: PCKeys and Software Base listed the server licence on its own, with separate bundles of 10 or 2 Windows Server user CALs, Licence House listed RDS CALs as a separate product, and Scan listed Windows Server 2025 user CALs individually at £47.99 each. TheUnitySoft’s Windows Server 2025 Standard licence at £299 includes 50 version-compatible RDS User CALs, covering Remote Desktop access for 50 named users. Microsoft’s core-licensing requirements and Windows Server CALs still apply, so if you are unsure what your environment needs, write to us before ordering. Our guide to Windows Server 2025 vs 2022, Standard and Datacenter explains the editions.

• A guarantee without a time limit, delivery in about a minute and a single company to talk to: TheUnitySoft’s Windows 11 Pro key is £19.95 for one PC as a one-time payment; the Windows 11 Home key is £14.95 if the Pro features are not needed.
• A server with Remote Desktop users: the Windows Server 2025 Standard licence with 50 RDS User CALs included saves buying the CALs separately.

Häufig gestellte Fragen

How much does a Windows 11 Pro key cost in the UK?

Prices at key shops change daily and depend on the licence type and the currency shown, so check the seller’s page on the day. At TheUnitySoft, a Windows 11 Pro key was £19.95 and a Windows 11 Home key £14.95 on 6 October 2026, each as a one-time payment for one PC. Microsoft’s own UK store listed Windows 11 Pro at £219.99 on the same day.

What should I check before buying a Windows 11 key from any seller?

Five things, all of which should be visible on the seller’s page: the licence type (OEM or retail), the delivery promise, how long the activation guarantee lasts and whether you can choose a refund, who the counterparty is (the shop itself or a third-party seller on a marketplace), and the currency in which the price is shown. A seller that states all five in writing is easier to hold to its word.

What happens if the key does not activate?

At TheUnitySoft you contact support by email or WhatsApp with your order number and the error message, and if the key cannot be activated you choose a replacement key or a refund, with no time limit, including after a reinstall or a PC reset. At the other sellers we checked, the window was 28 or 30 days where one was stated, sometimes only for unused keys; on G2A the individual seller’s refund terms apply, and Kinguin and Eneba did not state terms on the pages we checked.

How quickly will I receive the key?

TheUnitySoft sends the key, Microsoft’s official download link and a step-by-step guide by email in about 60 seconds after payment, 24/7. Ecokeys states “within 5 minutes”, MS Software “within 10 minutes”, and several sellers say “instant” without a figure. If nothing has arrived after a few minutes, check your spam folder and then get in touch; we resend straight away.

Is the price on a marketplace listing the price I pay?

Check the total and the seller at checkout. On a marketplace the headline price belongs to one of many third-party sellers, and on G2A each of them “sets their own refund terms and conditions”. G2A also shows a separate price for members of its paid Plus Premium programme next to the standard price. At TheUnitySoft the price on the product page is the total you pay for the key, as a one-time payment with no subscription.

Do I need Windows 11 Pro or Home?

Home covers most personal use: browsing, office work, media and gaming. Pro adds BitLocker drive encryption, Remote Desktop hosting, Hyper-V and domain join, which matter if you work on a company network or handle sensitive data. Our article Windows 11 Pro vs Home: which licence do you need? goes through the differences in detail.
